This year marked an important milestone for us: the first conference presentation of the SquiDBase project. We had the pleasure of presenting it (as a poster) at London Calling, the flagship conference of Oxford Nanopore Technologies.
For anyone working with nanopore sequencing, London Calling is a highly rewarding event. It brings together a critical mass of researchers, developers, and users, making it an ideal place to exchange ideas, discover new applications, and reconnect with familiar faces from the field. The programme consistently highlights how fast the technology is evolving and how broadly it is being applied.
We attended with a larger-than-usual group from University of Antwerp, together with Kris, Julia, and Nick. Sharing the experience with colleagues added to the energy of the meeting and sparked many discussions, both during and after the sessions.
We returned home genuinely recharged, with fresh ideas and renewed enthusiasm for nanopore sequencing and for the future development of SquiDBase. London Calling once again proved why it is such a valuable event for the community.
